As a child cries, all over,
I kept insisting on robin's egg blue tiles about the fireplace,
which gives a room a kind of flying-heartedness.
Only that tiny slice of the house absorbed my perfume
--like a kiss sliding off into a three-sided mirror
--like a red-brown girl in cuffless trousers
we add to ourselves by looking.
She had the boy-girl body of a flower,
moving once and for all past the hermetic front door.
I knew she was drinking blue and it had dried in her;
she carried it wide awake in herselfever after,
and it's music blew that other look to bits.
If what she hunted for could fit my eyes,
I would shine in the window of her blood like wine,
or perfume, or till nothing was left of me but listening

In the Beginning
i have few clothes and
many books, you bring
few clothes and many
books, still, have no
doubt of it, the one
closet won’t be enough,
and tho in our world
there is always room
for one more book
somehow the clothes
will be a problem. tho
in bed there is no
ending the combinations
there will not be room
in one closet for two
suits four dresses two
raincoats two winter coats
and your new spring topper----
if they still call them
that--- and the shoes, my
god the shoes, what in
hell to do with all of
them, not even a plastic
shoe bag hanging on the
door of the closet--- we
will move to a bigger
place, two closets, lugging
the books and the bed.

Sunday, January 10 from 12 noon - 4 p.m.

Postcards From the Edge is a Visual AIDS benefit show and sale of over 1500 original, postcard-sized works of art by established and emerging artists. All artworks are sold for $75 each, on a first-come, first-served basis. The works are signed on the back and exhibited so the artists' signatures cannot be seen. While buyers receive a list of all participating artists, they don't know who created which piece until purchased. All proceeds support the work of Visual AIDS.

Visual AIDS utilizes art to fight AIDS by provoking dialogue, supporting HIV+ artists, and preserving the legacy, because AIDS is not over. www.visualAIDS.org
